Project: Windows Project
School: St Augustine’s Catholic Primary School (SE6)
The Brief
The school had suffered some damage to old windows and skylights which were unfortunately no longer manufactured. Therefore it was not a standard replacement project, and a survey on the site was required to ensure fittings before finding a company who could both fabricate and manufacture the replacements. Due to the severity of the damage which left the school open to the elements and potentially a security risk, the work needed to be completed within the half-term break.
- Specific windows and skylights no longer in circulation
- Survey required
- Tight time frame
Our Approach
With the tight time frame, it was particularly useful that we had an extensive list of vetted school suppliers. Fortunately, we were able to use one of our regular contractors who we had used on over 60 previous jobs so had a very strong relationship with and were able to negotiate the best deal. They were a very good fit for this job as they controlled the supply chain meaning that the price could be driven down and time delays kept to a minimum.
- Selected company based on experience
- Negotiated best possible rates
- Ensured time frame
The Outcome
Due to the expertise of the supplier, the school was very pleased with the results of the work. The supplier ensured an extremely quick turnaround by surveying the job and putting through an express manufacturing order. During the project, the engineers were able to complete the major installation work in one day and the remaining repairs within the time frame and within the agreed budget.
- The potential for security and weather issues eliminated
- Delivered within half term break
- All work completed on budget
