Project: Doors and Access Project
School: Our Lady & St George’s Catholic Primary School (E17)
The Brief:
The school needed to install a new biometric access system. It was proving particularly difficult to find a company. First, the school needed to understand what was available on the market and then make an informed choice to appoint a supplier who would meet their specific needs and be cost effective.
- Installation of new biometric access systems
- School unsure of the options for the project
- Specification required
Our Approach:
Fortunately, we had worked on many access systems previously and so were able to come up with a shortlist of relevant companies for the school. However, it became apparent that we had to find a company which was not only licensed but also affiliated to the manufacturer of a particular system. From there we selected a great company who had worked on 35 projects with us before and negotiated on the school’s behalf to ensure the budget was met.
- Highly specialised company selected
- Negotiated on price for the school
The Outcome:
Although there were some late alterations, the entire project came through on budget as we were able to use our strong relationship with the supplier. We also ensured that the changes weren’t disruptive to the school calendar. By communicating with the school and the supplier, we were able to reschedule and build in a tiered finish so the final work could be completed in half term and the school would remain operational throughout. The work was completed to a very high standard with minimal disruption; the key stakeholders were very pleased with the results.
- Project completed under budget
- Agreed rescheduling to fit with school timetable
- School delighted with the completed project
