Project: Window Installation
School: Albermarle Primary School (SW19)
With a large number of windows in need of installation and a summer deadline, this project needed to be set up and delivered quickly. Furthermore, the work needed to run in parallel with other structural works so the site management would be challenging and the budget was tight as the full amount wasn’t granted to the project. The school was not receiving quotes of the quality required to complete the works so high-quality suppliers needed to be engaged
- Strict timeframe to fit alongside other work and during holidays
- Grant did not cover the full cost
- Unable to find a supplier with school experience
We began by working with the school to put together a full specification of the work before engaging our extensive list of relevant suppliers. Due to our excellent relationships, we were able to approach exceptional, experienced and price-competitive companies before running a tender for the work. We knew that by running a competitive tender, we could get the overall budget down. At the end of the process, we were able to select a supplier who we had previously worked with on 45 school projects.
- Detailed specification compiled
- Approached only suppliers with experience of working with schools
- Ran a competitive tender
Not only were the school happy to see the work completed under budget, but they also got more than they initially expected as we were able to cover some extra small projects with the remaining budget. All work was completed ahead of schedule and ran in parallel with the structural works, so there was no disruption to the start of the new academic year. The school were also pleased with the quality of the windows which meant saving on future energy bills.
- Work completed under budget
- Additional work covered
- Project delivered on schedule
- Cost saving on future energy bills
